About Shir Madness Klezmer Band
| Shir Madness originally started as a member activity of Shir Hadash, a havurah
in Newton, Massachusetts. While keeping its ties to the
havurah, Shir Madness now functions as an independent organization loyal
to the European klezmer tradition. We play at nursing homes, parties, weddings and any other venues in need of klezmer energy. There are eight of us singing and performing on a variety of instruments: clarinet, flute, fiddle, mandolin, guitar, baritone horn, drums, piano, accordion and tambourine. In concert the group plays as a full ensemble or in smaller combinations for a more intimate mood. We love this music, and have evolved a sound we're proud of, and which we think you'll enjoy. |
